After 12 years, Tami Sakuma and Susan Berentson have left Sakuma Farm Market to start a new business on our own, featuring the best farm products in the Skagit Valley of Washington. The duo have built the first commercial kitchen located at the Port ofSkagit County near the regional airport, and will offer their bakery products plus fresh berries and other treats at two locations.

Tami has 30 years of farming experience, focusing particularly on growing, buying and selling high quality fresh, locally grown berries. Together with Susan, who prepares all the shortcakes, scones and pies from scratch, they sold over 25,000 shortcakes in the 2010 summer season alone.

From the Farm sells fresh strawberries. raspberries, wild mountain blackberries, blueberries, blackberries, & tayberries in season.

We also have value added products like jams, syrups, jellies, honey, tea and salsa, plus our own shortcake, fresh baked berry pies, berry bars and scones.

Our extensive, 3,000 square foot commercial kitchen, not far up the road, will allow us to bake and sell our famous strawberry shortcake, scones, pies, blueberry bars and our other famous delicacies.

The commercial kitchen will also be available for rental to others in need of a professional kitchen for the creation of value added farm products. Realizing that many businesses in the valley require 20 quart commercial mixer, extensive counter space, large commercial convection ovens, and walls of cooling racks—but they only require them a few times during the year, the rentable, commercial kitchen is a response to community need. From the Farm will use our kitchens throughout the year, and we are honored to serve as an incubator to help grow other local industries using these state of the art facilities.
